Many long years ago, I took a journey, one which will stretch the vast reaches of my imagination until my last day.  My crew and I embraced a living legend and escaped with a thread of a chance. These weary eyes have rested upon man's fears and held many disbeliefs. This is my captain's log, my journey as only I, Captain Alistair Leeds, could tell it. "Straight on until dawn cracks the sky, me lads."  MJ Harris

M. J. Harris's Petite Biography

How long have I been writing?  Well, ever since I could handle a pen (four years old) I have been creating stories for family and friends. My poetic creations were beginning to surface around this age, too. My parents read to me as early as I can remember, and their selections consisted of many of the classical favourites; Shakespeare, Wadsworth, Keats , Blake and Mallory to name an elite few.

I spent a copious part of my childhood in Belgravia England, where my current home abroad still resides. By the age of eleven, I entered my first academic camp, and already had read all of Shakespeare's plays and the entire collection of his beloved sonnets. Literature has been a first love of mine my entire life.  I come from a long line of Oxford and Cambridge graduates. My grandfather attended St. Andrews and Oxford where he met and became good friends with Tolkien.

I have a deep love of music. My interest include classical Bach, Mozart, Chopin, Beethoven etc … My contemporary interests includes Enya, Groban, Charlotte Church and many more too numerous to mention. It is my interest in opera that caused me to become a classically trained first soprano.

I'm a strong Christian and owe everything I have to Jesus. My husband and I have raised our children Christian, and we are proud of how they love the Lord. I am also a big fan of Tolkien and anyone can tell, that has read some of my work. I belong to the Tolkien society  I highly recommend joining this society if you are a fan of professor Tolkien's work.

Along with being a poet, I am also a novelist. I have three manuscripts I am busily working on. I have one book in editing stages and to be published hopefully soon. . If you would like to read my interview Click Here  You can also visit my website HERE   and you may email me HERE

I will continue to write it is a passion for me I never plan to quit. I feel it to be something I have aspired to do all of my life.

Until we meet again,

M. J. Harris
